“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God Day and night, has been cast down.” Revelation 12:10 NKJV
There is an enemy who wants to steal your blessings. He is called a thief(John 10:10).
He will eat you for lunch if you don’t know how to deploy the weapons of God (Ephesians 6:18). His major weapon is deceit. It is important for you to know these weapons and familiarize yourself with them. Let us focus on the weapon; the blood of Jesus.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” Revelation 12:11. God revealed to Israel that the blood can protect because the blood covers sin. This was revealed during the Passover feast. The plague of death didn’t touch the Israelites but passed over their homes because of the mark of the blood (Exodus 12:13).
It was by faith that Moses asked the Israelites to obey the word of God, so the angel of death could pass over their homes. The new covenant was made possible because of the shedding of the blood on Calvary. The sacrifice of Jesus is the only sacrifice that can wash away our sins and make us righteous in the eyes of God. God forgave us our sins as a result of that sacrifice. It also gave us the privilege of receiving spiritual blessings.
SIN MADE THE WAY FOR SATAN TO AFFLICT US
THE DEVIL THEREFORE HAD THE POWER OF DEATH BECAUSE OF THE SIN OF ADAM.
THROUGH DEATH OUR LORD JESUS DEFEATED THE DEVIL WHO HAD THE POWER OF DEATH. HE HAD IT, BUT DOES NOT HAVE IT ANYMORE!!! THE WAY HE DEFEATED THE DEVIL AND DISARMED HIM TOTALLY IS EXPLAINED IN THE SCRIPTURE SO WE BELIEVERS MUST UNDERSTAND IT VERY WELL AND NOT BE CONFUSED ABOUT IT.
He forgave all our sins and canceled all the charges against us and that was done through the washing of the blood He shed for us. He disarmed the devil and stripped him of his legal right to afflict us because of our sins.
THE STING OF DEATH IS SIN
WHERE SIN HAS BEEN WASHED AWAY DEATH HAS NO STING ANYMORE. IT IS LIKE A SCORPION THAT HAS NO VENOM. THE DEVIL CAN NOT EXECUTE SICKNESS WHICH LEADS TO DEATH ON US ANY MORE. HE HAS NOTHING TO ACCUSE US OF. HE HAS NO LEGAL GROUNDS ANYMORE! OUR SINS ARE WASHED AWAY AND NEVER TO BE FOUND ANYWHERE.
WHAT OF THE SINS OF TODAY?
The sacrifice of Jesus took care of it as well. His blood speaks forgiveness and intercedes for us continuously! This is why that sacrifice was made once and does not need to be repeated. It is effective for all times!!
We must be fully aware of how the blood defeated Satan and disarmed him. The blood of Jesus defeated the enemy forever. The enemy no longer has power over you except you intentionally go back to committing sin. You then offer the enemy a platform to afflict you. But if you repent and ask for forgiveness, the platform is immediately denied him. A Christian habitually living in sin is not living under the freedom from sin that Christ provided us by His grace, but by choice under the law. All who receive grace will live in triumph over sin. Grace has provided us the ability to resist every evil through Christ who lives in us. We have to continually make the choice to take advantage of the new nature we have and the help of the power that works in us and helps us work in the light of God’s revealed truth in Christ Jesus. You are who He said you are in Christ and have what He said you have in Christ and can do what He said you can do in Christ. You must learn to believe this and stand your ground when the enemy challenges it because he will. He challenged our Lord on who He is. The devil asked that if Christ is the son of God, He should prove it. Of Course, Jesus is the son of God and did not need to prove anything. The devil will also challenge you on who you are in Christ too.
THE BLOOD PROTECTS YOU AGAINST THE DEVIL BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE FAITH IN THE BLOOD OF JESUS AS THE WORD SAID. YOU MUST BELIEVE THAT THE BLOOD IS THE ATONING SACRIFICE FOR YOUR SINS AND NOTHING ELSE!!!!
ARMED WITH THIS TRUTH, YOU CAN CONFRONT SATAN WITH YOUR SWORD OF THE WORD OF GOD. YOU CAN BUILD A SHIELD OF FAITH TO QUENCH EVERY FIERY DART OF SATAN AGAINST YOU.
PLEADING THE BLOOD AGAINST SATAN
Pleading the blood is a good way to stand on the benefit of the blood against Satan. By pleading the blood of Jesus, you are saying to Satan, “I am not guilty just as they plead in court. I am not guilty. My sins are washed away by the blood and you have no more legal standing to afflict me. The sting of death is sin but where there is no sin, death has no more sting. Christ has made me righteous and holy and I am purified by faith that is in Christ Jesus and washed in the blood.” If you stand your ground long enough and do not relent, regardless of how long it takes, the devil will flee from you. Also, pleading the blood of Jesus is like pleading the fifth amendment that gives you the right not to say anything that will incriminate you in the American court system. When you plead the fifth you are standing on the right that the law affords you. But if you do not know about this privilege, your words might incriminate you in court even though you had the right not to say anything. When you plead the blood of Jesus you are also standing on the protection that blood affords you against Satan.
If you say it like an incantation and in ignorance, it will be a vain word. You can never win any battle in ignorance. People are destroyed for lack of knowledge. You must have a working knowledge of what the blood has done for you for it to work for you. This truth will set you free!
The devil defeats you because he knows you don’t have an understanding of how to properly plead the blood. You need to know and understand that there is power in the blood before you apply it. The blood was shed for your sake and it speaks for you because it is alive. Don’t waver when you plead the blood of Jesus.
