Living By The Word Of God Guarantees Blessings

Every child of God needs to check how much they depend on God’s word. The truth is, nothing happens in the life of a believer outside of the word of God. Without it, we starve spiritually; incapable of fighting the enemy, become spiritually malnourished, weak, and incapable of doing anything spiritually meaningful. We become void of exploits because we are no longer strong. “Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” Dan. 11:32. Those who know their God are the ones that can do exploits and knowing God is through His word. Do not put anything above God’s word. If you seek spectacular manifestations and miracles, which is what many are attracted to because they seem so glorious, you will miss God. Let God’s word guide your feet and path. Don’t follow the crowd. Forget all the momentary benefits and instant gratifications, with time they will disappear. The word of God is tested and tried, it cannot fail.

When God was going to save the world He didn’t send the anointing, He sent the word. The word gave life to everything that exists. The word was there from the beginning according to John 1:1. Nothing has the same status as the word because the word is God and He does nothing outside His word. This is why Psalm 138:2 records that He magnifies His word more than His name. God’s word upholds everything. We don’t enjoy our blessings because we are ignorant of what the word of God says about us. True deliverance from any oppression or attacks of the enemy can be addressed by the word of God and this is the only way your deliverance is guaranteed to be lasting. We need to study God’s word, so we can be skilful users of His word.

When we are confronted with life’s challenge, we need to pause and go back to God through His word where we will find the divine wisdom to withstand life pressures and overcome. There is something you ought to do to resolve the crisis; it’s in the word. God back to God, ask what you need to know, and He will give you the wisdom and revelation to set you free.

In the final analysis of things, you need faith to walk and keep walking free. Develop your faith enough so when the counterattack of the devil comes, your faith will keep your blessing secure. That’s why you can’t make the word of God a secondary activity in your life. Stay focused on the word because money or anything else can’t help you in the fight against the devil. Let the knowledge of Christ become your food.

All God’s blessings come through His word according to John 15:7. “But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!” You can get all the blessings you desire in God’s word

“Behold I gave you the authority to tramples on serpents and scorpions, and overall the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19 (NKJV)

Jesus sent His disciples into the wild as sheep that could be eaten by wolves for the purpose of evangelism but not without His protection. He made sure He equipped them for the battle ahead before releasing them; He gave them the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. He assured them that nothing will harm them. They returned and reported that even the devils were subject to them!

A sheep has nothing to defend itself with. It cannot boast of having claws or fangs. This means we cannot depend on anything else to protect us other than what He has given us; the power in His name. This is why the bible also state in Acts 4:12 that salvation can only be obtained through His name. Every believer must constantly remember and live conscious of the fact that we have authority in Christ.

When talking to people about Christ, avoid arguments instead be gentle, patient, and kind. It is only that God will minister to them and make them come to their senses to escape from the devil’s trap. Your job is to speak the word and the Spirit of God will move to complete the work in their hearts.

God’s original plan was to give us authority as seen in Genesis 1:26. “Then God said, “Let us make man in our Own image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over everything creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Adam and Eve were God’s ambassadors on earth with delegated authority to dominate everything created. Unfortunately, they sold their dominion to the devil by their disobedience to God. They lost that authority and this hindered them from fulfilling God’s desired purpose for them on earth. Thank God for Jesus who restored it back to us through His death and resurrection.

Delegated authority is only exercised or used for God’s will; not in promoting self or other agenda. The will of God determines where His power goes and where His authority is exercised. God does everything to promote His will. He delegates authority to you because it is His will for you to have and exercise dominion on earth.

God created a new person out of you with a different lineage. You were created from the lineage of the Holy Spirit when you got born again, this is how you earned that position of authority. You are not of Adam and his sins do not affect you. The devil has lost his hold over you; old things are passed away and all things have been made new. You are God’s masterpiece with the same authority to perform the kinds of miracles Jesus did while on earth.

In His name, you are powerful enough to make Satan bow to Him. He has delegated that authority to you and if you don’t use it, you will be operating at a disadvantage. Use the power you have. Use what works.

GOD IS HIS WORD

Their minds are dull and slow to perceive, their ears are plugged and are hard of hearing, and they have deliberately shut their eyes to the truth. Otherwise they would open their eyes to see, and open their ears to hear, and open their minds to understand. Then they would turn to me and I would instantly heal them. Matthew 13:15 (TPT)

The only way we communicate with God since we do not see Him physically is through His word. We may not see Him in flesh, but we know He is real. A proof of this is that He says what He wants to do and does it. No one can know Him apart from Himself. His Spirit knows Him and reveals Him to us through His Word. No one can know God except through His Word and the works He does.

God is His Word, according to John 1:1, to be acquainted with His word is to be acquainted with Him. God does not violate or act outside of His Word. By knowing His Word, you can know His character and relate with Him accordingly. Many well-meaning Christians are struggling to believe God’s Word because they haven’t experienced the efficacy of it and so have become weary, tired, and doubtful.

You can’t relate with God without believing His Word. The difficulty we have in believing is blamed on three things:

The body of theological teachings we have been exposed to. These are theories that deviate from the scriptures but have become the standard for many. People are relying on them instead of the bible. It laid the foundation for loss of faith in the bible. Some big denominations do not believe in the bible.

The law teachers: Many preachers are followers of Moses and teaching in ways that will never produce faith in their lives. They encourage self-righteousness because they believe that by their goodness they will go to heaven. They discount Christ completely in their teachings. They don’t help people to focus on the finished work Christ did on Calvary.

The blinding of demonic spirit: This is a complete lack of interest in God’s word and this happens when we don’t have a love for the truth of the Word. Demons have fertile ground to work where the word of God is absent. Satan can’t work on you if you don’t want him to; you can resist him. Though they listen to God’s word, they can’t understand it because their minds are dull and slow to perceive, according to Matthew 13:15 (TPT). They have deliberately shut their hearts to the truth.

When we give attention to God’s word, it directs us to God, puts us in a perpetual relationship with Him, and helps our faith to remain activated. Meditate on God’s word daily; this will bring you healing, answers to prayers, and every other thing that Christ has guaranteed for us. We must choose, like Mary and the Berean Christians, to sit with Jesus and inquire and depend on every word that proceeds from His mouth.
