Some Christians are living without their privileges as children of God. This is because they are not sure of who they really are in Christ. The phrase “children of God” is said so often that it has truly lost its meaning. It is easy to say we are children of God in a casual way, especially around other believers. But, the real question is do we really believe this? How do we really see ourselves especially when we are alone with our own thoughts?
Christianity is an entirely spiritual experience. Many Christians live and operate in the carnal realm. They see everything simply as the natural senses interpret them. This lifestyle locks them up in the natural realm and makes them totally forget the world of the Spirit and by extension the reality of the kingdom of God. When your natural senses have the ascendancy and control your thinking, it blocks you from seeing the spiritual realities and accessing them.
Casual seekers don’t get much from God. Every believer must see and take the word of God as a treasure. If you do not show God that you are serious about something, He will not give it to you because you do not know the value and you will most likely abuse, neglect, or waste it. When you don’t show God that you are serious with His word, He will leave you with your wisdom and this makes you mediocre and leaves you in a very risky situation.
God wants the very best for us. We are the objects of His love. God’s purpose is to take you from slavery to sonship. Living by the rules and laws of the world takes you back to slavery, so it is important that you live by faith. Becoming like Christ brings about freedom from the bondage of the old man.
The Church is Christ’s physical body on earth today. Jesus delegated authority to His Church so we can preach the gospel in His name. Jesus said” All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore (as a result of this possession of all authority and as a consequence of it) and make disciples of all the nations”.
God created man on earth for him to dominate earth and take charge of it under God. God made man in His likeness. Man was created to have dominion on earth just like God. Since man is the only creature created like God, it is unfathomable that man would be subservient to any other creature. Dominion was Adam’s natural status just like God.
God created us in His true image in Christ Jesus and so we cannot see ourselves as anything less. We are not grasshoppers while sin, Satan, the world, sickness etc. are giants. A wrong identity will build weakness into your life and produce failure even before the fight.
Trusting the Lord with all your heart means that you, first of all, believe that God is who He says He is. When you trust in the word of God, you are testifying that God is real and true.
A major problem most Christians face is ignorance. We are all familiar with the Scripture that says “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. If you are ignorant in any area of your life, you will not excel in it. Spiritual ignorance means living in a lack of understanding of the revealed truth that is in Christ Jesus.
The life of a Christian has to be lived entirely by faith. The bible calls us only to believe, that’s the only requirement for salvation and also for the outworking of the new life we received in Christ Jesus. It is by grace through faith that we were saved. We only receive through faith in Jesus Christ. It is also the same grace that makes us what we are according to Paul, and if it is by grace, it still manifests by faith. That is why the just shall live by faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. The bible shows us in several places the importance of having personalized faith.
