Growing Spiritually (Pt 4): The Role of the Holy Spirit (Pt. 2)

We cannot overemphasize the need to continue to grow spiritually because it will lead to living the life that is fully led by the Holy Spirit. This way, whatever you do will be inspired by the Spirit rather than the flesh. It will be beneficial to yield to the Holy Spirit rather than engaging our flesh. When we yield to the dictates of the flesh, we miss the opportunity to bring divine impact to our families, jobs and finances.

Growing Spiritually (Pt. 3): The Role of the Holy Spirit

The role of the Holy Spirit is to, first of all, testify about Jesus to us. (John 15:26) He also guides us into all truth and shows us things to come.
We are joint heirs with Jesus; everything He has from the Father is ours – His life, privilege, position, and righteousness. All that He is will be revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. We were created in the new man to be like Him in the new birth, that way we see ourselves for who we really are. We understand all our new privileges and abilities in Christ Jesus, we understand truly that we are no more of this world because He is not of this world.

Walking With God

God is close to those who draw near to Him. Unfortunately, many believers do not get to this level because of lack of faith and double mindedness. If you want to remain close to God, you must love what He loves and hate what He hates. Two cannot walk together unless they agree. Repentance aligns us up to be in sync with God. If you don’t take repentance seriously, then you can part ways with God and not even realize it.

Growing Spiritually (Pt. 2)

God desires to see us grow and mature in Him because that way we won’t be easily swayed by every wind of doctrine. When we run after what is not the truth, we waste our time. The truth will remain the truth and you can’t benefit from what is not the truth. We need to grow spiritually, especially in these last days where the devil is churning out all manner of deceit. Even the elect can be deceived.

Growing Spiritually

As believers, we owe it to ourselves to grow spiritually. A spiritual minor may be the lord of the house and have all the gifts of God but will not be able to execute them until he matures. He is not different from a servant as long as he remains a child. When we choose to remain spiritual babies, it puts us at a disadvantage. Babies can’t fight or win battles. When you depend on people for almost everything, you will not be able to live your best. Practice makes perfect.

THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT

The sword of the Spirit is the word of God. This is not carnal or human but a spiritual weapon of warfare. This means that any word that is not God’s word is not His weapon and will not be effective in spiritual warfare. As believers we must never forget that the words we speak should be the testimonies of the Holy Spirit about Jesus Christ the Savior.

You Are Destined For A Glorious Life

Although God’s word doesn’t return to Him void, we must cooperate with Him to make it happen. Living a glorious life requires being intentional and making tough choices. We must deliberately choose what God has said about us over the noise we constantly hear around us. Everything that pertains to life and godliness has been provided for us by Christ who is in us. However, we need  to make them ours by acknowledging that they are ours. If we deny them they do not manifest though they are there. By denying them we are rejecting them too.

IDLE WORDS OR GOD’S WORDS

We sit in church and listen, but we don’t understand the word because we aren’t teachable. We think we know it all, but our eyes of understanding are closed. If we open our eyes to see the word, the word will direct us to Christ Jesus. We should ask God to open our eyes of understanding and be intentional about the time we spend reading and listening to his word.

ONE PEARL OF GREAT PRICE

How valuable is Jesus to you? How much time do you give to Him in your thoughts, words, and actions each day? It will reveal whether you have found Him as that pearl of great price or not. What is your price tag on Jesus? We always find time for things that are important to us. If God is important to you, you will find time for Him; not just on Sundays but daily.
