ENJOYING THE BENEFITS OF SALVATION

Experiencing salvation is the core of a believer’s walk of faith. Salvation is a package of blessings and privileges that the Lord Jesus paid for us to have freely with His life and His blood. It is received only by faith because it is given as grace; unmerited favor. Salvation among other privileges gives us access to God and the privilege to call Him Abba Father.

SALVATION: SAVED FROM WHAT?

We were saved by grace through faith. This is not of works but a gift from God. We need to have a working knowledge of our salvation. If we don’t have knowledge of our salvation, we won’t know the benefits of it. It is important to know what we’ve been saved from by receiving salvation.

GIVING ATTENTION TO GOD’S WORD

. To get results in our prayer lives, we need to give active attention to God’s word. We must understand the word with our hearts and not with our heads. You can’t have an intellectual discourse of the bible and expect to grow spiritually. You can have a mental accent and quote scriptures but that would amount to nothing until it gets to your heart; your spirit. The word gets into your heart, then understanding it gives you revelation, and that is how your life is changed.

GOD IS BOUND BY HIS WORD

God is bound by His word. Just as an oath binds the people involved, His word binds Him to do what He says He will do. Binding Him to His word is not in the sense of forcing an unwilling person to perform an obligation but in the sense of God’s word is His ways; His nature.
He lives His word; His word is what he does. It is native to Him and He needs no persuasion to do His word.

Pursuit Of Oneness With Christ Jesus

One of the major things that salvation did for us is give us oneness with Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:16-17 says, “Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh. But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” We are one spirit with Christ when we receive the gift of salvation. Being one with Christ means that everything we are, is Him. In Him we live, and move, and have our being!

Growing Spiritually (Pt 4): The Role of the Holy Spirit (Pt. 2)

We cannot overemphasize the need to continue to grow spiritually because it will lead to living the life that is fully led by the Holy Spirit. This way, whatever you do will be inspired by the Spirit rather than the flesh. It will be beneficial to yield to the Holy Spirit rather than engaging our flesh. When we yield to the dictates of the flesh, we miss the opportunity to bring divine impact to our families, jobs and finances.

Growing Spiritually (Pt. 3): The Role of the Holy Spirit

The role of the Holy Spirit is to, first of all, testify about Jesus to us. (John 15:26) He also guides us into all truth and shows us things to come.
We are joint heirs with Jesus; everything He has from the Father is ours – His life, privilege, position, and righteousness. All that He is will be revealed to us by the Holy Spirit. We were created in the new man to be like Him in the new birth, that way we see ourselves for who we really are. We understand all our new privileges and abilities in Christ Jesus, we understand truly that we are no more of this world because He is not of this world.

Walking With God

God is close to those who draw near to Him. Unfortunately, many believers do not get to this level because of lack of faith and double mindedness. If you want to remain close to God, you must love what He loves and hate what He hates. Two cannot walk together unless they agree. Repentance aligns us up to be in sync with God. If you don’t take repentance seriously, then you can part ways with God and not even realize it.

Growing Spiritually (Pt. 2)

God desires to see us grow and mature in Him because that way we won’t be easily swayed by every wind of doctrine. When we run after what is not the truth, we waste our time. The truth will remain the truth and you can’t benefit from what is not the truth. We need to grow spiritually, especially in these last days where the devil is churning out all manner of deceit. Even the elect can be deceived.
